Bekahsaurus and Captain Fox finally found our first velocache!

We saw the chalk writing in the bunker by the beach in Oct. and we've been keeping an eye online since.
Knew where one was but my bike was out of commission so couldn't get it.

We set out for CSUMB because the frat clue and the Frolf goal.
I had an idea where it might be and I figured I'd see the wire structures.


Sure enough, off in the distance I see the big Z above the trees.

The beers were ice cold and the M80s will be put to good use.



We're getting a velocache ready, but having trouble deciding where to put it.

You prolly came from this direction. You know, West.



This is no place for rope-a-dope. You got to be fast. Fast. Fast. Like when you cut the light off in your bedroom; hit the switch are in the bed before the room is dark.


Don't blow it and head further this way. You know, East.




You'll want to head this way. You know, North.



Eventually looking back and seeing this,

whilst continuing on this way. You know, North. NOT following the more established track over to the West again. Get in there and begin your hike-er, uh, climb.



Keep going.



This type of trail will look familiar...

And even though that bag will not be there, it is directing you the right way...

towards this arrangement of stones. Cairn. Rock Duck. And even though this package will not be there, it will be nearby. You know, East. If you head that way, you're in the right.

I fully expect that there will be some sitting on the hands here. None of y'all have been here, and that's a fact. Doesn't mean you shouldn't go, and if you ask nicely I'll show you how to get here on the down-low downhill.

Break in the rain...time to ride a bicycle for the purpose of (riding a bicycle) hiding packages in the woods.


You know I loves the trees but with even Fort Ord looking like that above, ridgeline riding is the best you can hope for right now off the pave. Swamp.

The stairs appear to be on the short list. Go there, enjoy it for one of the last times before it is gone for ill...because there are auto tracks leading from there to the newly destroyed-er, uh, gladed section by the lay down slides.

But you know what I think? Those bolts look like 18mm or so, and who's got a crowbar? We can save this...
